30 years ago, John, you were taken from us. It sounds stupid to say. You would know, after all. And, before I make this letter, or note, or whatever you’d like to call it, sound any dumber than it already does, I just want to say thank you. Thank you for everything you’ve done, for everything you’ve shared with us - the music, the message, the love, the peace.

I wish you could see all the people, all your fans, coming together, even if just for today, to remember you. You mean more to us than can be put into words. If anything, I really just want to say I love you, John, and I hope you’re happier than you’ve ever been, wherever you are.
